Rescue Ride II in 2004

2005 Rescue Riders. Dog rode too!

How can you help?
1-Spay or neuter your pets and help stop pet overpopulation. {Last year, over 5,000 cats and dogs were killed in RI public and private shelters because there are not enough homes. That is equal to 14 dogs and cats every day of the year!} There are several great low-cost programs in RI, such as Salmon River Veterinary Services. Also, RI Veterinary Medical Association
www.rivma.org
has a low-cost/assistance program.

2-Consider adopting a forever friend at the Warwick Animal Shelter (or any other shelter), a brand new, beautiful state of the art animal shelter. Directions: from 95, take the Jefferon Blvd. exit and travel East. The shelter is off Jefferson Blvd.; take a left at D'Angelo's and bear right at the split. Go over the bridge (RT 95) and the shelter is down on the left. Shelter hours are MWF 12-4 PM; Tues 2-6 PM; Th Sat Sun 11-3 PM, closed on holidays.

3-Volunteer! Positions are available for fundraising, direct animal care, dog walking, foster care, etc. NOTE: DOG WALKERS ARE REALLY NEEDED AT THE WARWICK ANIMAL SHELTER DURING THE WEEK! VISIT THE SHELTER OR CALL 401-468-4377 FOR MORE INFO. JUST A FEW HOURS A WEEK WILL MAKE A HUGE DIFFERENCE IN A DOG'S LIFE!

4-Help with the Rescue Ride! We need volunteers to help with t-shirt sponsorships, collecting raffle prizes, PR, selling tickets and more. You can give as little or as much time as your schedule permits. Email themightypaw@aol.com to learn more or attend a planning meeting.

5-Donate! Send your tax deductible donation to: Friends of the Warwick Animal Shelter, PO Box 9285, Warwick, RI 02889.
Thank you.

Please visit the Warwick Animal Shelter, located at 250 Service Road, Warwick RI. From Route 95, take the Jefferson Blvd exit, head East, turn rght at the D'Angelo's Sandwich Shops (Service Rd), bear right at fork. Shelter is over bridge on the left. Shelter hours are Monday, Wednesday and Friday 12-4 PM; Tuesday 2-6 PM and Thursday, Saturday and Sunday 11-3 PM, closed on holidays. Please visit http://www.petfinder.com/shelters/RI59.html to view many of the animals awaiting adoption. Feel free to come down to the shelter anytime during the hours of operation to see the animals (to adopt or see if your lost pet is there).

Low cost spay/neuter clinics for cats are held every other Tuesday at the Warwick Animal Shelter by appointment only. Please call 401-468-4377 to make an appointment or for more information.

In Rhode Island, all owned cats must be spayed or neutered according to law. These clinics give cat owners a low-cost option by a very experienced and caring veterinarian, Dr Ryan Loiselle of Salmon River Veterinary Services. Please be sure to spay/neuter your cats-animal shelters all over RI are overflowing with homeless cats. Please, don't let you cat contribute to the problem. Call and make an appointment for your cat today-she or he will love you for it!
