Friends of the Warwick Animal Shelter, a 501(c)3 non-profit organization, will use the proceeds to help the homeless cats and dogs at the Warwick Animal Shelter. Donations are tax deductible as allowable by law.

Our faithful supporters have made these shelter improvements possible by your continued and generous support of our fundraisers! In the past years, we have installed central air conditioning to the dog kennel and quarantine rooms, a surveillance camera system, a huge 20’ x 50’ outdoor playpen with canopy for the dogs, a new washing machine, new epoxy floors in the cat rooms, new extra large stainless steel cages for cats, a water filtration system for the entire building and sound absorbtion panels in the dog's kennels. Additionally, we help qualified Warwick residents needing financial assistance with spaying or neutering their cat(s) at the twice monthly low-cost spay/neuter clinic for cats held at the Warwick Animal Shelter. We are all volunteers so your donation directly helps the animals!

Begun in 2001, the Rescue Ride was the 1st motorcycle ride in RI organized to help homeless cats and dogs in need. There are lots of rides out there and Friends of the Warwick Animal Shelter appreciates your continued support. Thank you all for supporting our motorcycle ride and a great cause for all of those years: helping homeless dogs and cats! The last year (2007), with a police escort to the Scituate Reservoir, we waved to 500 motorcycles (and lots of biker-dogs) riding to help homeless animals! Thanks to all: we truly appreciate your support.

Proceeds from the 2007 Rescue Ride were used to build an outdoor 20'W x 50'L outdoor playpen for the shelter dogs. The playpen will help relieve stress, provide socialization with other dogs and give them time out of the kennel, all of which will make them more adoptable. Friends purchased a surveillance system for the shelter to prevent animal thefts and abandonment of animals at the shelter. The water in the shelter has tested for high levels of iron. Friends installed a new water filtration system so the cats and dogs will have clean, pure water to drink. The washing machine unexpectedly broke down on a weekend. Friends purchased and installed a new washer before the weekend was over so the animals could continue to have clean sterilized bedding. None of these things would have been possible without your support!

All donations, no matter the size, is important and will benefit Friends of the Warwick Animal Shelter, a 501(c)3 non profit humane organization {FEDERAL EIN # 05-0520691} dedicated to helping the animals housed at the Warwick Animal Shelter by helping the shelter stay a humane place for all lost, stray, abandoned, homeless and impounded animals.

Please! In light of the devastation of the floods of 2010, have a well thought out plan for your own animals in case of evacuation or disaster. PLAN AHEAD-most human shelters in RI will not accept animals. Have a carrier, collar and leash and make sure your animal is wearing an up-to-date ID tag that includes your cell phone number! Never abandon your pet(s). Visit www.hsus.org or www.aspca.org for complete information on disaster preparedness.
